Obviously the best floor finishes are specialty finishes so look to a specialist who knows how to make a tough safe floor finish.

Whether you are installing a new hardwood floor refinishing an old one or just keeping your existing floor looking as good as new minwax has a full range of products to make and keep. Instead we recommend any minwax polyurethane including minwax water based oil modified polyurethane or minwax ultimate floor finish for maximum durability. There are only a few manufacturers who use pure acrylic. I used 2 coats.

Polycrylic is really quite versatile. As we mentioned before it is available in a gloss finish semi gloss. You are correct minwax polycrylic is a water based wood finish just not floors it can t handle the traffic. The finishing step for wood floors after they have been sanded and stained is the polyurethane process.

You can use this on low impact furniture as well as on doors or cabinets. I used minwax quick drying polyurethane to topcoat a dining room table. A better minwax product would be either minwax ultimate floor finish or minwax super fast drying polyurethane for floors. The product is designed for furniture.

Polycrylic finish is not recommended for use on floors because it would require more frequent recoating in high traffic areas.
