I have a very old armstrong vinyl floor that has lost its shine.

You simply roll it across the floor surface to apply it.
I found sheet vinyl for my kitchen that i really like but it is not the best quality.
1 you can use a wax on acrylic surfaces and burnish or polish up the floor.
2 you can use an inorganic type of sealer that is a solution that hardens the vinyl or rubber and then you burnish it up.
A better option would be to use a 100 acrylic clear.
3 you can use our vinylguard water based polyurethane sealer.
Why not use a water based polyurethane to coat.
There are a lot of nay sayers out there about polyurethane on vinyl tiles and laminate floors but i ve always had great success.
Have seen this noted in several forums but don t.

They look good at first but seem to rapidly absorb dirt and then need to be stripped and redone.
One note over time poly will turn a amber color was not a problem over dark color but over light color will be.
I used to have old wood floor that was painted with gloss brown paint when it would get dull i would go over it with polyurethane it would be glossey again for a couple more years i would think it would be the same for your vinyl.
Looking to see if 3 or 4 coats of polyurethane will give protection.
If you mean an oil based polyurethane no it will dry too hard and will chip off over time and normally isn t meant for exterior work.
