Ps3 Standby Charge Controller

Just got a new ps3 for the first time not sure how to charge it exactly.

Can i charge my ps3 controller when the console is off. Posted by u deleted 8 years ago. But when the ps3 is on standby mode you can plug the ps3 controller into a computer s usb port while the computer is on to charge it. Thanks for the info guys i ll have to look into a charger i guess.
